A.I.R.
The Guesthouse Project presents international and Irish artists and collaborative groups with an opportunity to live and work in Cork City. The A.I.R. requires a dedication to situating your practice in Cork for 1 to 3 months.
The space is set up to facilitate transdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary non-hermetic practices that develop through conversation and experimental modes of operation. We invite artists to find new ways of imagining, activating and utilising the Guesthouse building. We are interested in artists that have solo, collaborative or research-based practices.
The A.I.R. opportunity is open to all practitioners at any stage of their career (who are not currently in education or living in Cork City) such as:
The residency gives visiting artists a point of contact with the Guesthouse artist community and runs for the duration of 1 to 3 months.
Accommodation Information
A.I.R.s are provided with a private loft apartment that contains a bedroom with a double bed and separate living area with a double desk space for working, two single beds and a small diverse library. On the second floor there is a fully equipped private kitchenette and shower room. On the ground floor there is also a fully equipped kitchen and dining room available to our A.I.R.s for larger gatherings.
Facilities
The ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, and is available to artists (especially culinary artists) for experimental dining and social gatherings. The first-floor workspace is equipped for sound and media-based experimentation, collaborative practice, and small-scale workshops and presentations as part of ongoing research and idea development. The second floor co-create space is a shared workspace equipped with trestle tables and chairs, basic materials, photocopier, scanner, printer, sewing machine and a selection of tools and equipment. All facilities are shared by the Guesthouse artist community.

The Guesthouse is run on a voluntary basis and is a shared and co-create space that is also utilised by local artists. The residency gives visiting artists an opportunity to meet with our artist community.
